Aggies look to remain undefeated in young history versus the Gamecocks

The Aggies will look to remain unbeaten versus South Carolina this Saturday night as they travel to Columbia, SC for their third straight SEC road contest (fourth straight if you’re counting the neutral site game in AT&T Stadium).

The history between these two programs began less than a decade ago, with their first match-up taking place in August 2014 – a decisive 52-28 Aggies’ victory in South Carolina. Since then, the Aggies have rattled off seven straight wins with an average margin of victory of 18 points.

In their most recent match-up in October 2021 – a 44-14 victory in College Station – the Aggies rushed for 301(!!!) yards, with 154 of them coming from Devon Achane. Zach Calzada’s passing stats weren’t too impressive (50% completion, 187 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and an interception), but with two backs rushing over 100 yards, there wasn’t much of a need in their passing attack.

As both teams return from their Week 7 bye, the Aggies will be a rested group looking to earn their ninth straight victory over the Gamecocks.

The Aggies take on the Gamecocks on Saturday night, 6:30PM CT, at Williams-Brice Stadium.
