Aggies full steam ahead in Jimbo Fisher’s fifth fall camp

With coach Fisher’s fifth fall camp in College Station underway, it’s an exciting time of year as the Aggies near closer to the light at the end of the tunnel – that light being their first 2022 opponent after months of hard and dedicated offseason work.

As the energy and emotions remain high, the spirited practices to start fall camp are moments coach Fisher never takes for granted:

“That’s why you coach, why you run all those sprints, lift all those weights, to get on the grass and play. As a coach I feel the same way. I love practice. I love interacting and developing.

These camp practices will be where this 2022 squad cements their culture and team characteristics. Continued improvement, one practice and day at a time, is absolutely necessary to meet and exceed the expectations of this season, and coach Fisher knows that the weeks leading up to their season-opener are crucial for growth because the microscope will only become larger come September 3rd:

“Practice is a sacred ground where you develop and grow as a human being and everybody grows behind the scenes. They don’t have to worry about the commitment of being judged worldly. They have to be in their collective families. Like your family knows things about you no one else knows, your team knows things about you no one else knows. And that’s what that unity is about. Watching guys, and watching the other guys help those guys grow, or get on them if they get out of line, those relationships? I love that part of everything we do.”

As camp progresses throughout the month of August, look for this group to not only grow as a football team but also as a family.
