After landing with Bengals, Nick Scott thanks Rams for giving him a chance

Nick Scott thanked the Rams for giving him a shot as a 7th-rounder in 2019, showing gratitude toward his teammates and coaches

Nick Scott may not be a household name or star safety, but he’s been a valuable player for the Rams in the last four years. He started out on special teams but worked his way into a starting role in 2021 when Los Angeles’ secondary got depleted by injuries. He maintained that spot in 2022 and played 97% of the snaps, missing only one game.

Scott is on his way out of L.A. after agreeing to a three-year deal worth $12 million with the Bengals. The Rams are going to miss his physicality and leadership on the back end, bringing a powerful punch as a tackler and the range to prevent big plays over the top.

With Scott heading to Cincinnati, he thanked the Rams for giving him a shot as a seventh-round pick in 2019, also showing gratitude toward his teammates and coaches.

With Scott leaving and Taylor Rapp seemingly ready to sign elsewhere, too, the Rams will likely be without their two starting safeties from the 2022 season. Jordan Fuller is still under contract, but the depth at safety has gotten thinner this offseason.
