AFC South standings: Where Titans sit after the bye week

A look at the AFC South standings following the Titans’ bye week.

With the Tennessee Titans on a bye Week, the success of their Week 7 solely depended on how the rest of the division performed on Thursday and Sunday.

The Titans weren’t going to move up in the standings regardless of what happened, but the team could’ve seen the distance between themselves and the rest of the division shrink if things worked out in their favor.

The Houston Texans were also on a bye, so the focus was on the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts this weekend.

Unfortunately, the Jaguars found a way to extend their division lead with a thrilling 31-24 victory over the New Orleans Saints in which they survived a second-half comeback attempt by Derek Carr and Co.

As for the Colts, they fell just short in what was arguably the best game of the weekend, losing by a score of 39-38 to the Cleveland Browns in a game that came down to a fourth-and-goal play with just seconds remaining.

Following the results of Week 7, the Titans’ odds of winning the AFC South got worse, but they could put themselves in a position to get back in the wild card race if they can get on track following the bye week.

With all of that said, let’s take a look at the AFC South standings going into Week 8.
