AFC playoff picture: Ravens sitting wild-card round out

The regular season is finally over and the AFC playoff picture has been finalized. See what seed the Ravens are and who they’ll face

Though the Baltimore Ravens already knew their spot coming into Week 17, several other spots had yet to be finalized. And with the final week of the regular season now wrapped up, the AFC’s playoff picture is settled.

The Ravens had secured the No. 1 seed last week after beating the Cleveland Browns. However, the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Los Angeles Chargers and the New England Patriots losing to the Miami Dolphins this week caused a flip of the second and third seeds. Now Kansas City joins Baltimore at the top of the AFC and will have a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Take a look at the AFC’s final seeding below.

AFC playoff picture:

Seed Team
1 Baltimore Ravens
2 Kansas City Chiefs
3 New England Patriots
4 Houston Texans
5 Buffalo Bills
6 Tennessee Titans

Though the Ravens and Chiefs will rest next week, they’ll learn who their opponents are through the wild-card round. With the AFC seeding all figured out, we now know who will square off next week and who their potential opponents will be.

AFC wild-card games:

  • Buffalo Bills (No. 5 seed) at Houston Texans (No. 4 seed)
  • Tennessee Titans (No. 6 seed) at New England Patriots (No. 3 seed)

Baltimore will take on the lowest remaining seed in the AFC playoff picture following next week. That could be one of these three teams, depending on how the wild-card round shakes out.

  1. Houston Texans (No. 4 seed) — if the Texans beat the Bills and the Patriots beat the Titans
  2. Buffalo Bills (No. 5 seed) – if the Patriots beat the Titans and the Bills beat the Texans
  3. Tennessee Titans (No. 6 seed) — if the Titans beat the Patriots and the Bills beat the Texans
