After the seventh week of the 2021 NFL season, the AFC East standings remain the same.
The Buffalo Bills are still atop the division, as they had a two-game lead going into the week and were on a bye. Their team still seems to have the most talent of any team in the division.
New England defeated the New York Jets to pull within a game in the win column of the Bills and give themselves a two-game lead in the win column on the Jets in third place.
The Patriots dominated the Jets, scoring 54 points and knocking Zach Wilson out of the game with a knee injury. New York didn’t really miss a step without their rookie starter which is not a good thing. New England’s victory doesn’t mean much because the Jets are one of the worst teams in the league.
Miami is, once again, at the bottom of the East after losing another game by a last-second field goal with the Falcons taking home a 30-28 win. Tua Tagovailoa had an up-and-down game with two interceptions coming in between his four touchdowns at inopportune times. The defense, despite forcing three turnovers, was disappointing.
Another loss for the Dolphins means another week of the media and fans questioning if the team should trade for Deshaun Watson.
Week 8 AFC East matchups:
Miami Dolphins (1-6) vs. Buffalo Bills (4-2)
New England Patriots (3-4) vs. Los Angeles Chargers (4-2)
New York Jets (1-5) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (5-2)
