AFC East news: Jets trying to trade RB Le’Veon Bell (report)

The Buffalo Bills AFC East foe, the New York Jets, reportedly looking to trade RB Le’Veon Bell.

Not great, Gang Green!

The New York Jets and running back Le’Veon Bell have been playing in a season that’s… pretty much been the polar opposite of the one the Buffalo Bills are having. A nightmare.

And it appears the hits are just going to just keep on coming.

According to the New York Daily News, the Jets and now looking to trade the All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell.

Off to a winless start so far this season, the 28-year-old rusher has clearly been upset. It’s easy to see because he’s no stranger to social media and Bell went out after the Jets’ latest loss, a 30-10 handling at the hands of the Cardinals, and starting interacting with messages that criticized the Jets’ usage of him in the game.

Bell potentially requesting a trade could be another dagger for New York head coach Adam Gase, too. Often speculated but yet to happen, many think Gase might lose his job this season after another poor start.

Gase has often touted the importance of getting Bell the ball more, but that hasn’t been the case… and we all know actions speak louder than words.

Bell held out while with the Steelers in 2018 and then averaged a career-low 3.2 yards per carry in 2019. This season Bell is at a 3.9 clip so far, but only has 19 carries and 74 yards through two games played. Bell signed a four-year, $52.5 million deal last season.

The trade deadline is slated for Oct. 29. The Bills next face the Jets on Oct. 25.
