AFC East news: Dolphins’ breakout rookie De’Von Achane lands on IR

#Dolphins rookie will miss time:

Miami Dolphins rookie sensation, running back De’Von Achane, will be out at least the next four weeks.

According to Dolphins Wire, Miami decided to place Achane on IR this week. In the Dolphins’ win over the New York Giants on Sunday, who the Buffalo Bills face in Week 6, Achane went down with a knee injury.

That didn’t come before another huge game for him. The 31-16 victory included 151 rushing yards for the rookie which featured a 76-yard scamper for a touchdown.

Achane’s emergence has quickly seen him shoot up the stat charts in the NFL. He current has the second-most rushing yards in the league (460), trailing only Christian McCaffrey (510) of the San Francisco 49ers.

In the meantime, the Dolphins have Raheem Mostert, Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks on the active roster with Jeff Wilson Jr. able to come back from injured reserve this week if Miami wishes.

Despite missing the next month, Achane will likely be back before seeing the Bills again. Miami and Buffalo don’t face off again until their season finale on Jan. 7.
