AFC East news: Dolphins acquire WR Chase Claypool from Bears

AFC East news: #Dolphins acquire WR Chase Claypool from #Bears:

The Miami Dolphins are not sitting on their hands after being defeated by the Buffalo Bills.

In wake of losing first place of the AFC East following a 48-20 loss to the Bills (3-1), the Dolphins (3-1) have acquired another weapon on offense: Chase Claypool. The Chicago Bears (1-4) have traded the disgruntled player to Miami.

In the other direction, the Dolphins had sent a 2025 sixth-round pick and a 2025 seventh-round selection to Chicago in exchange for Claypool.

In recent weeks, Claypool has been a healthy scratch. He did not play in the Bears’ Thursday Night Football win over the Washington Commanders (2-3).

Overall, Claypool has disappointed since arriving in Chicago in 2022. In 10 games, he only recorded 18 catches for 191 yards and one touchdown.

However, Claypool did have flashes during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2020 to 2022.

With the Dolphins, Claypool now joins a receiver room with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle at the top. Both speedy receivers, the 6-foot-4 Claypool looks like a potential vertical weapon for Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
