AEW’s Darby Allin plans to climb Mount Everest next year

Finally, a wrestler who literally means he wants to make it to the top of the mountain.

For those who are brave enough to take on a challenge, some of the world’s most daring obstacles await. Whether it’s an extreme mountain climb or a heart-pumping skydive, these adventures offer a unique rush of adrenaline.

Then there’s Darby Allin, AEW’s death-defying wrestler in and outside the ring. He refines taking bold, daring stunts, like a modern-day Evel Knievel. Remarkably, the former TNT Champion jumped over his own house in a Jeep last year, which is, well, risky since he could have missed the landing and cratered his car into his bedroom. Motorsports legend Travis Pastrana helped organize it.

In an interview with former WWE star Dean “Mojo Rawley” Muhtadi at TMZ Sports, Allin said his next adventure awaits at Mount Everest, which he intends to climb sometime next year. Conquering Everest, the world’s highest peak, is no small feat, and certainly, not an easy task, which is part of Allin’s goal to push boundaries as a wrestler outside the ring:

“That’s been my whole MO since AEW started,” Darby told Mojo Muhtadi, adding, “That’s why it’s so important for me to meet up with guys like [Travis] Pastrana, and make stuff happen. Do stuff that no wrestler’s ever done before.”

About 4,000 people have successfully climbed Mt. Everest, at 29,032 feet, which is a true accomplishment and an arduous journey that requires ample preparation. Allin will eventually try to join these brave individuals, and it should be fascinating to see if he can achieve this.

The 30-year-old has made noise in the ring as well, recently joining the AEW World Championship match for Double or Nothing with Sammy Guevara and Jungle Boy to face the current champion, MJF for the title on May 27. A win would be Allin’s most daring in-ring accomplishment, so the next year or so could be his time to shine brightest.
