The Vikings went up against the best running back to ever play for the team on Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium.
In his first game against the Vikings as a member of the Lions, Peterson was held in check, running for just 29 yards on eight carries (3.6 yards per carry) to go with three catches for 14 yards.
The Vikings won the game 34-20.
Overall in 2019, Peterson has had a down season, going into this game with just 321 rushing yards while averaging 3.8 yards per carry which is the second-worst mark of his career.
Peterson, 35, will get his next chance to play against his old squad in Week 17 at Detroit.
It would be fitting if Peterson played the last game of his career against the team that drafted him.
