Around a week ago we first heard that Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Adrian Klemm was planning to leave the team and become the offensive line coach, run game coordinator and assistant head coach at the University of Oregon. Monday, according to NFL writer Pete Thamel, Klemm has accepted the position and the Steelers are letting him out effective immeidately to begin his new job.
Klemm just took over duties as the Steelers offensive line coach this season and served as an assistant for the two previous seasons. Klemm played in the NFL for six seasons and was originally a second-round pick of the New England Patriots.
This season the Steelers tasked Klemm with rebuilding the Pittsburgh offensive line with four new starters. The results through 15 games hasn’t been great and the Steelers offensive line is the worst unit on the team and among the worst offensive line in the NFL by most measures.
