ACC releases new football scheduling model from 2024 through 2030

The conference, set to expand to 17 teams, announced teams opponents for the 2024 through 2030 seasons amid new ACC rules shared Monday.

The ACC is set to expand to 17 members next football season, and with increased membership comes scheduling tweaks, the conference announced on Monday.

The conference is set to add the California Golden Bears, the Stanford Cardinal, and the SMU Mustangs for the 2024 football season amid major college football conference realignment.  The conference’s new schedule design says all 17 teams in the new ACC will face each other at least twice every seven years.

There will still be no divisions, a concept the conference did away with this season. The top two teams in conference win percentage will face each other in the conference championship, which will take place on the first Saturday of December.

The conference announced there would be 16 protected annual matchups. This list included:

-Boston College vs. Syracuse

-Boston College vs. Pittsburgh

-Syracuse vs. Pittsburgh

North Carolina vs. Virginia

-North Carolina vs. Duke

-North Carolina vs. N.C. State

-N.C. State vs. Wake Forest

-N.C. State vs. Duke

-Duke vs. Wake Forest

-Virginia Tech vs. Virginia

-Florida State vs. Clemson

-Miami vs. Florida State

-Miami vs. Virginia Tech

-Stanford vs. California

-Stanford vs. SMU

-California vs. SMU
