Dabo Swinney and the Tigers are coming off a solid rivalry week win over South Carolina and now await their bowl destination.
It has been a strong November run for Clemson, one where they’ve gone undefeated. From 4-4 to 8-4, this Clemson team really turned things around. If you remember after the Notre Dame game, Swinney did say that now is the time to buy stock in Clemson.
And I know we’re down and everybody’s throwing dirt on us. But if Clemson’s a stock, you better buy all you can freakin’ can buy right now! Let’s go!,” said Swinney.
When Swinney said this, many fans and analysts reacted differently. Some believed in what Swinney had to say, while others (the Paul Finebaum’s of the world) were more negative about Swinney’s comments. Someone who took that statement to heart is ACC Network analyst Eddie Royal, who’s loved what he’s seen from the Tigers.
“That defense for next year, these young guys – TJ Parker, Peter Woods, all those guys in the secondary, (Avieon) Terrell – these guys are going to be ready to roll,” Royal said on ACCN’s ACC Huddle show. “And then Cade (Klubnik) is going to grow up. I think this offseason is going to be huge for him. He’s going to be ready to go next year. (Jake) Briningstool, all of those young guys, Tyler Brown. Coach is right – buy stock in Clemson, because they’re about to take off.”
