A look at future UNC football opponents

We take a look at the future opponents for the UNC football program with the ACC schedule matrix being changed.

With the Atlantic Coast Conference switching the football schedule matrix to just one division in 2023, each team will have a 3-5-5 setup including playing three of the same teams each year.

For North Carolina, they match up with Duke, NC State and Virginia for each of the four years. Outside of that, they will play the rest of the league twice with one at home and one on the road. As the ACC made the announcement on Tuesday, they also revealed the future conference opponents for each team.

Here is a look at how UNC’s schedule lines up each year for ACC opponents per the conference site:

2023

North Carolina: Home – Duke, Miami, Syracuse, Virginia; Away – Clemson, Georgia Tech, NC State, Pitt

2024

North Carolina: Home – Boston College, NC State, Pitt, Virginia Tech; Away – Duke, Florida State, Louisville, Virginia

2025

North Carolina: Home – Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia; Away – Miami, NC State, Syracuse, Wake Forest

2026

North Carolina: Home – Florida State, Louisville, NC State, Wake Forest; Away – Boston College, Duke, Virginia, Virginia Tech

With this new schedule matrix being one division, the top two teams in the conference will meet in the ACC Football Championship Game in Charlotte.
