A look at Auburn’s history in the College World Series

Auburn returns to Omaha for the sixth time in school history.

The Auburn Tigers are returning to the College World Series for the first time since 2019. Under head coach Butch Thompson, the Tigers have advanced to the annual tournament in Omaha, Nebraska, twice.

The team was led this season by slugger Sonny DiChiara, who was a big reason why the team was able to advance past the Super Regional. His two-run homer was a catalyst for the offense against the Oregon State Beavers.

Now they will shift their sights to a familiar foe, the Ole Miss Rebels. A team they beat once in three games. In the lone series against Mississippi, Auburn won the second game of the series 19-5.

They must knock them off once again or could face elimination in game two. They will either face Arkansas or Stanford in that game.
