A Baylor transfer, Hand played both man and zone at Temple in his one year as a starter. Hand, the 5-foot-11 and 197 pounder showed to operate better in zone, using his read-and-react skills and eye discipline to make plays, projecting as a backup corner with starter upside.

In his three seasons at the college level, Hand finished with 114 tackles, 20 passes defensed, four interceptions, 5.5 tackles for loss and one forced fumble. In 2017, he earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12.
