The Seattle Seahawks ruled out a couple of players ahead of the Sunday matchup against the San Francisco 49ers – right tackle Brandon Shell (ankle) and running back Rashaad Penny (calf) – as neither player was able to return to practice this week.
In addition, rookie wide receiver Dee Eskridge is doubtful to square off against the division rivals.
“I’m not sure he’s going to make it, we have to wait and see what happens tomorrow,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters after the walkthrough on Friday. “We are still talking about it. He passed the protocol on Wednesday. He sat out Wednesday to do that, had a really good day yesterday at practice, but we don’t know if it is right to bring him back yet.”
There is also a slim chance Seattle could be down another wide receiver for the Week 4 contest. Starter Tyler Lockett was deemed questionable to play with a hip injury.
“He practiced today,” Carroll said. “We rested him during the week, he did a bunch of treatment, and he feels good.”
Defensive ends Alton Robinson (knee) and Benson Mayowa (neck) were also listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.
