‘Vegas is cool as hell,’ Aggies junior DL Albert Regis describes emotions before bowl game

“Making a bowl game is a heck of a feeling because it’s hard. I’m out in Vegas, man. A lot of people dream about being here, and I see why.”

In the first year of the expanded College Football Playoff, countless players around the country who weren’t on the top twelve teams are disappointed and discounting the accomplishment of playing in a bowl game.

However, Texas A&M junior defensive lineman Albert Regis is definitely not one of them. Regis spoke to the media on Thursday afternoon about his excitement ahead of the Las Vegas Bowl against USC.

“It’s all the same feeling. Making a bowl game is a heck of a feeling because it’s hard,” Regis explained. “I’m out in Vegas, man. A lot of people dream about being here, and I see why.

“Vegas is cool as hell.”

The 6-foot-2, 310-pound junior has started at defensive tackle in all 12 games for the Aggies this season. In the transfer portal era, it’s nice to have someone on the roster who is excited about an otherwise meaningless matchup.

Texas A&M (8-4) plays the Trojans (6-6) at Allegiant Stadium on Friday night at 9:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
