Head coach Andy Reid kept his foot on the gas pedal in the fourth quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 17 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.
Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton recovered a fumble by Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth early in the game’s final frame, and Patrick Mahomes was sure to capitalize on optimal field position to extend Kansas City’s lead.
On a second down play from Pittsburgh’s 12-yard line, Mahomes rolled out and threw a touchdown pass to star tight end Travis Kelce, who easily hauled in the ball while standing all by himself in the Steelers’ end zone.
With this score, Kelce took sole ownership of the top spot in Kansas City’s franchise record books with the most receiving touchdowns in Chiefs history.
TE Travis Kelce with his 77th career receiving TD. He passes PFHOF TE Tony Gonzalez (76) for the most TD catches in franchise history.
