So close, yet so far away.
The Buffalo Bills beat the New England Patriots in Week 16 in a 24-21 final. Sean McDermott’s team was concerned with was the victory and that’s all. It was secured.
But Buffalo had a look at NFL history and fell one-touchdown short.
Had the Bills (12-3) put that six on the board, they would have hit 30 total points. In league history, no team has scored that many points in nine-straight games.
The Bills came into their Patriots (3-12) matchup tied for the record at eight… but fell just short by not hitting it in Week 16.
Ironically enough, the Bills are stuck at eight and tied there with… the Patriots, among other teams… and New England was right on the button. Heading into Sunday, the Pats defense allowed an average of 24.1 points per game… they hit that right on the button.
The Bills scored 24 points in their win against the Patriots. The last time they scored under 30 was October 14th 😳 pic.twitter.com/yzeF7z40RC
