The Washington Wizards (4-22) and Oklahoma City Thunder (22-5) meet Monday at the Paycom Center. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Wizards vs. Thunder odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: First meeting; Thunder won 2-0 last season
Washington dropped its fourth game in 5 outings Saturday, losing 112-101 to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Wizards failed to cover as 8.5-point road underdogs as the Under 219.5 cashed. G Jordan Poole led the team with 26 points and had 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. G Bilal Coulibaly recorded his first double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds while adding 5 assists, 3 steals, and a block, but he is questionable for this game.
The Thunder won for the seventh time in 8 games Friday, defeating the Miami Heat 104-97. They covered as 1-point road favorites as the Under 217.5 hit. F Jalen Williams led all scorers with 33 points, adding 6 rebounds and 4 assists. C Isaiah Hartenstein recorded his third straight double-double, finishing with 13 points and 18 rebounds.

Wizards at Thunder picks and predictions
Prediction
Thunder 132, Wizards 105
Moneyline
PASS.
The Thunder (-2500) are huge favorites for a reason — they are very good and the Wizards (+1100) are very bad. They will win this game at home, but no way can you bet these outrageous odds. Take your wagers to the spread and/or total.
Against the spread
BET THUNDER -18.5 (-105).
This line seems a bit steep to me, but the the Northwest Division leaders are among the top teams in the NBA. The Thunder are 6-1-1 ATS over their last 8 games, with 2 of those covers coming as double-digit favorites. The Wizards, on the other hand, just can’t get it done defensively, allowing a league-worst 122.2 points per game (PPG). They have a dismal 1-11 road record, going 4-7-1 ATS.
Washington faces a Thunder team that ranks as the best defensive squad in the league, allowing just 102.9 PPG. Oklahoma City has dominated recently, winning the last 4 meetings. The Thunder are 7-2 in their last 9 games against the Wizards, including 4-1 at home. In the last meeting in February, OKC trounced the Wizards 147-106. With the Thunder’s current form, it’s hard not to expect another lopsided victory for Oklahoma City.
Over/Under
BET OVER 223.5 (-105).
Initially, I was leaning toward betting the Under, considering the Thunder are the best defensive team in the league. They’ve hit the Under in 5 straight games, while the Wizards have gone Under in 3 of their last 4.
However, I’m backing the Over because 5 of their last 6 game against Washington have gone Over. Their most recent game totaled 253 points. Washington has the worst defense in the league so the Thunder should have no trouble putting up big numbers against them.
