Baker Mayfield has had quite the career renaissance since leaving the Cleveland Browns after being their number-one overall pick in 2018. That resurgence had another chapter added to the book when the NFL announced their latest recipients of the conference players of the week.
On Wednesday, Baker Mayfield was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Chargers in Week 15.
According to the Tampa Bay Communications team, Mayfield has now earned Offensive Player of the Week recognition five times in his career, with three different teams. Against the number one scoring defense, Mayfield completed 22-of-27 passes for 288 yards and added on four touchdowns, while earning a 135.3 passer rating.
Mayfield is having a special 2024 season as a whole, not just in Week 15. Only he and Jared Goff of the Lions are ranked in the top five in passing touchdowns, yards, and completion percentage.
He will look to add to those numbers on primetime on Sunday night against the Cowboys in Week 16.
