Michigan State up one spot in latest AP poll

Like their counterparts on the women’s side, Michigan State men’s basketball keeps moving up the polls, even after a week where they didn’t play a game. On Monday, the latest AP poll was released, and the Spartans came in at No. 20, up one spot from last week.

The Spartans had a grueling schedule to start the season, playing perennial juggernauts like UNC and Kansas while also warding off challenges from mid-majors who project to be tournament teams like Samford. They managed to make it out of that early slate with an 8-2 record and won’t face another Big Ten opponent until January.
