Georgia DB transfer portal destinations emerge

Georgia cornerback Julian Humphrey has five schools in mind after entering the portal

Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Julian Humphrey announced ahead of the SEC championship game his intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Humphrey, who started numerous games for Georgia this fall, is expected to be one of the top cornerbacks in the portal.

It is unclear if the redshirt sophomore defensive back will play in the SEC championship.

“It’s crazy timing,” said Georgia safety Malaki Starks on Humphrey’s decision to transfer days before the SEC title game.

According to On3, Humphrey is expected to look at Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Oregon and Alabama when he enters the transfer portal. The portal opens on Monday, Dec. 9.

Humphrey has 10 tackles and four pass deflections during the 2024 college football season. The 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back received less playing time as Georgia’s season went on. The Bulldogs started Daniel Harris in Humphrey’s place on the outside opposite of Daylen Everette.

Georgia plays the Texas Longhorns in the 2024 SEC championship at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 7.
