On the first day of the early signing period, the Colorado Buffaloes secured 14 of their 15 commits. One of their signees, four-star wide receiver Quanell X Farrakhan Jr., lauded head coach Deion Sanders with praise and attributed his decision to the program’s promising trajectory.
“I really believe what he (Coach Prime) has going on,” Farrakhan said Wednesday during his signing ceremony (h/t Joe Gleason of ABC13 Houston). “He’s tremendously flipped the Colorado program around, and I feel like he has what it takes to win a national championship.”
Farrakhan was a highly sought-after prospect out of North Shore High School in Houston, Texas, who committed to the Buffs on July 13 over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas A&M Aggies and other Power Four programs. Ranked as a top-40 receiver by 247Sports, the newly-signed Buffalo aims to bring the total package to a receiving core expected to lose its top four weapons this offseason in Travis Hunter, LaJohntay Wester, Will Sheppard and Jimmy Horn Jr.
