On the board: Jameis Winston finds David Njoku to tie game

Jameis Winston continued his clean streak of football in the first quarter against the Broncos.

The Cleveland Browns tied up their game against the Denver Broncos as quarterback Jameis Winston capped off a stellar drive with a touchdown strike to tight end David Njoku.

With three minutes left in the opening quarter, Winston connected with Njoku for an eight-yard touchdown, tying the game at 7-7. Cleveland answered the Broncos’ opening score with a 70-yard drive in just five plays, highlighted by a 44-yard reception from receiver Elijah Moore as they look to upset the Broncos on Monday Night Football.

Recently elevated receiver Kadarius Toney contributed with a three-yard rush on a reverse while running back Jerome Ford added a four-yard run. Njoku bookended the drive, starting with an 11-yard catch and finishing it with a tight-window grab from Winston in the end zone.

The Browns’ offense has shown promise early, though their opening drive ended with a missed 47-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins. Winston has started strong, completing four of his first five passes for 107 yards, with Moore and Jerry Jeudy each recording 44-yard receptions. The run game is averaging four yards per carry on six attempts, aiming to maintain balance against Denver’s formidable defense.
