Texas QB Commit KJ Lacey stands out in Alabama HS History

KJ Kacey is already making waves in Alabama Football History, he’ll join the Longhorns next fall.

KJ Lacey, a four-star quarterback from Saraland, Alabama, is a stand-out commit to the University of Texas for the Class of 2025. He is set to join a elite Texas Longhorns quarterback room alongside Arch Manning and Trey Owens. Lacey has been exceptional throughout his high school career, surpassing over 10,000 passing yards and becoming only the fifth quarterback in Alabama high school history to achieve that milestone.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) record for career passing yards is 11,024. The record was set between 2018-2022 by Jack Hayes. Lacey currently stands at 10,764 career yards, just 260 yards shy of the record.

Lacey’s performance has been key in his high school team, Saraland High School’s success. He led the team to an Alabama 6A state title as a sophomore and he’s not done yet as they’ll look to a 6A State Championship next Friday. He’s already proving himself to join up one of the elite quarterback room’s in the nation, living up to the conference motto of just meaning more.
