Notre Dame moves up one spot in AP Top 25 poll after beating USC

Notre Dame’s reward for beating is USC is a one-spot jump in the AP Top 25 poll.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have jumped one spot to No. 4 in the AP Top 25 poll after beating the USC Trojans 49-35 on Saturday.

This should help the Irish secure not just a playoff berth but perhaps a home game in the first round.

It was another shakeup Saturday thanks to some upsets, though the movement is limited compared to some previous polls this season.

Oregon remains No. 1. Ohio State’s loss to Michigan meant the Buckeyes slid five spots to No. 7. So that means the rest of last week’s top 5 moves up a spot.

So now the top five is Oregon, Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame and Georgia. The rest of the top 10 is Tennessee, Ohio State, SMU, Indiana and Boise State.

Other big movers included Miami (FL), which dropped six spots to No. 14 after losing to Syracuse and Clemson, which fell six spots to No. 18 after losing to South Carolina.
