Michigan football upsets Ohio State, tempers flare after

BUCKEYES BEAT! #GoBlue

COLUMBUS, Ohio — No one gave Michigan football much of a chance to do much of anything against an Ohio State team that was ranked No. 2 in the country and had become the favorite to win the national championship. The Wolverines entered The Game at 6-5 while the Buckeyes’ sole loss was by one point to Oregon on the road.

But somehow, some way, Michigan kept it close, at first by turning over Ohio State quarterback Will Howard twice, but Davis Warren returned the favor by throwing two picks — one in the end zone.

Yet, Michigan got enough offensive momentum to run the clock down and break the 10-10 tie with a Dominic Zvada field goal with 48 seconds remaining.

Michigan beat the Buckeyes, 13-10, to win its fourth straight.

But as Michigan players celebrated and tried to plant the Block M flag at midfield, Ohio State players rushed the celebration, causing an all out brawl, which resulted in a police separation and pepper spray being used.

Though Michigan will not be playing for anything of consequence in the postseason, they’ve ousted Ohio State’s bid for a Big Ten Championship.

What makes this win even more improbable, Michigan won without arguably its best player on either side of the ball as tight end Colston Loveland and cornerback Will Johnson were out.
