MSU improves to 7-0 with win over Cal

Michigan State women’s basketball has made the trip out to Palm Springs, California, to take part in the Acrisure Classic. In the first round, a semifinal round, the Spartans took on the Golden Bears from Cal.

Overcoming a 16-point second half deficit, the Spartans were able to knock off Cal, 78-72, moving on to the championship tomorrow.

Four Spartans finished in double figures, with the team being led by Julia Ayrault’s 22 points. Theryn Hallock (15 points), Grace Vanslooten (13 points) and Nyla Hampton (10 points) all aided the Spartans in a victorious effort.

Michigan State will be back in action tomorrow, at 1:30 p.m. on Tru TV, against the winner of the game between Vanderbilt and Arizona.
