Bengals get first critical injury updates after bye week

Some key Bengals injury updates to start the week.

The Cincinnati Bengals returned from a bye on Monday and provided some key injury updates, both on the practice field and during press conferences.

Of major note, wideout Tee Higgins started his week working on the side during practice, according to CLNS Media’s Mike Petraglia.

No need for panic there, at least not yet — Higgins returned before the bye and played most of the game in the loss to the Chargers. Offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. appears on pace to return after suiting up on Monday, too.

After practice, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told reporters that Sam Hubbard missed the day due to personal reasons, but he’s also been battling a season long-injury.

Taylor also said that Sheldon Rankins, who was a surprise inactive before the bye due to an illness, was out due to a viral illness.
