It wasn’t easy, that’s for sure. The Texas Longhorns held off a second half surge by the Arkansas Razorbacks to win in Fayetteville 20-10.

Arkansas pulled within three points in the fourth quarter. Leading 13-10 and with momentum wearing red, Texas responded with a touchdown drive, a forced fumble on defense and a textbook game killing possession drive that ended with the UT offense on the field in victory formation with two-minutes left in the game.

The Texas offense moved the ball most of the day, but one or two plays in several drives ended up preventing the Horns from cashing in consistently. Texas QB Quinn Ewers had a decent day, going 20 of 32 for 176 yards, 2 TDs with zero turnovers. But the junior from Southlake also missed a lot of throws. Several deep balls were overthrown.

The Texas running game was solid, gaining 139 yards on the ground. But it was the Longhorns defense that truly stepped up on road. The UT defense held Arkansas to just 231 total yards and forced two turnovers. Aside from back-to-back scoring drives in the second half, the Hogs offense was held in check all day.
