Deuce Knight receives five-star tag from On3 Sports

Knight is now the No. 32 overall prospect in next season’s class.

2025 Auburn Tiger quarterback commit Deuce Knight received an upgrade in his On3 Industry Ranking on Wednesday. The No. 6 quarterback in the 2025 cycle, the 6-foot-4 Mississippi native flipped his commitment from Notre Dame to Auburn earlier this fall.

Knight is now the No. 32 overall prospect in next season’s class, and he’ll likely end the cycle as the No. 2 prospect from the state of Mississippi, behind only wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, who is committed to join the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2025. Knight is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job as soon as he begins practicing on the Plains next season. If he were to win the gig, he’d become the first true freshman to start a game for the Tigers since Bo Nix.

Auburn’s lone five-star recruit joining the team next season, Knight recently spoke Auburn Live about the confident his future head coach has in him. “Coach Freeze thinks we can both do some special things with the offense… He sa[id] to come over to Alabama and take over college football.”

The left-handed quarterback is the top ranked prospect in what is now the No. 5 ranked 2025 recruiting class is college football. Hugh Freeze’s Tigers trail only Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, and LSU for the top spot in the nation. Knight and the highly-touted class will begin to compete for starting spots as soon as the Tigers begin spring practices next year.
