Iowa no longer receiving votes in latest US LBM Coaches Poll

After its loss at Michigan State, Iowa football is no longer receiving votes in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.

After its 32-20 loss at Michigan State on Saturday night, Iowa football is no longer inside the receiving votes category of the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.

Iowa (4-3, 2-2 Big Ten) began the season ranked No. 25 in the preseason Coaches Poll and climbed to No. 21 after their 40-0 season-opening shutout of Illinois State.

The Hawkeyes dropped out of the rankings following their 20-19 Week 2 loss at home versus Iowa State. Then, after Ohio State handled Iowa 35-7 in Week 6, the Hawkeyes received just two points in the following Coaches Poll.

Now, after suffering their third loss of the season, Iowa is out of the receiving votes category altogether.

Georgia’s 30-15 win over No. 1 Texas over the weekend has created a shakeup in the top of the latest rankings.

Oregon leaps up to No. 1, Georgia climbs to No. 2, Penn State is No. 3, Ohio State rises to No. 4 and Miami is now No. 5. Texas dropped five spots to No. 6.

The rest of the top 10 features No. 7 LSU, No. 8 Tennessee, No. 9 Clemson and No. 10 Iowa State. The Cyclones remained unbeaten and improved to 7-0 with a comeback victory over UCF.

Two other Big Ten teams are ranked in the newest US LBM Coaches Poll. Indiana is No. 13 after demolishing Nebraska, 56-7, and Illinois is No. 21 after toppling Michigan, 21-7.
