We’ve seen big games played inside Autzen Stadium before, but never like this.
For the first time ever, a top-five matchup will take place in Eugene between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 3 Oregon Ducks. It will be a game that sets up a king in the Big Ten Conference going forward and puts someone in a poll position to make it to the College Football Playoff.
Both Oregon and Ohio State have looked dominant so far this year, but neither team has played anyone nearly as good as they will on Saturday. It will be a great litmus test for how strong these championship contenders are at this point in the season.
ESPN’s “College GameDay” was in town for the big-time matchup, setting up shop in the Memorial Quad on campus early on Saturday morning and getting the party started.
ESPN’s “College GameDay” crew made its picks for Saturday’s winner in the Autzen. Here’s how they selected:
Desmond Howard: Oregon
Pat McAfee: Oregon
Nick Saban: Ohio State
Guest Picker Kaitlin Olson: Oregon
Lee Corso (Absent): Ohio State
Kirk Herbstreit: Ohio State
The game between Oregon and Ohio State kicks off at 4:30 p.m. PT on Fox in Eugene, Oregon.
