The Texas Longhorns got good news on the injury front Thursday with the announcement that QB Quinn Ewers will start the Red River Rivalry game against the Oklahoma Sooners. On the other sideline, the Sooners will be without one of their top players.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports OU’s top WR Deion Burks isn’t expected to play against Texas. Burk leads the Sooners in receptions with 26 and yards with 201.
Burks was listed as questionable on the official SEC availability report, which is made public each Wednesday evening. The Sooners listed four other receivers on the list as out, Jayden Gibson, Jalil Farooq, Nic Anderson and Andrel Anthony.
Burks, a transfer from Purdue, also has scored three touchdowns, all in OU’s season opener against Temple.
