No College GameDay, but ABC/ESPN’s top announcing crew will call Texas-Oklahoma

ESPN’s College GameDay will be in Oregon, but the network’s top announcing duo of Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler will call Texas vs. Oklahoma.

ESPN College GameDay will not be at Fair Park Saturday morning to preview the Texas Longhorns vs. Oklahoma Sooners game. Instead, the popular Saturday morning show will be in Eugene, Oregon in advance of the Ohio State Buckeyes visit to the Oregon Ducks.

But the Red River Rivalry will get ABC/ESPN’s top announcing duo calling the game. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will be in the booth at the Cotton Bowl.

This will be the third Texas-OU game in four years for the duo. Fowler and Herbstreit have been ESPN’s top crew for a long time, calling the last ten national title games in a row together. The crew will include Holly Rowe and Laura Rutledge on the sidelines.

Disney, who owns ABC and ESPN, is making sure their best is on hand for the first SEC iteration of the Red River Rivalry. Disney was instrumental in facilitating the two schools move to the SEC.

Instead of GameDay, SEC Network’s ‘SEC Nation‘ will be at the State Fair to preview the game. The cast on the scene will include Paul Finebaum, former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, Jordan Rodgers, Roman Harper and host Laura Rutledge. The duo of Marty Smith and Ryan McGee will be in Dallas as the SEC gets introduced to one of college football’s most iconic annual games.

The Ohio State-Oregon game will be on NBC.
