Joel Klatt re-ranks his Top 10 following chaotic Week 6. Where are the Clemson Tigers?

Joel Klatt ranks his Top 10 teams after a chaotic Week 6 of upsets in college football.

We thought Week 5 in college football was crazy enough with the Georgia Bulldogs suffering their first regular season loss since 2020 and the Ole Miss Rebels (then ranked No. 5) falling at home to Mark Stoops and the unranked Kentucky Wildcats.

Then Week 6 happened. The Alabama Crimson Tide, ranked No. 1 in the AP Top 25 poll, lost to Vanderbilt for the first time in 40 years. Another top-5 team, the Tennessee Volunteers, lost later that night to the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville.

Two other Top 10 teams, the Missouri Tigers and Michigan Wolverines, also lost while the Miami Hurricanes needed a 25-point comeback in Berkeley to survive the California Golden Bears.

Meanwhile, down in Tallahassee, the Clemson Tigers took care of business against the Florida State Seminoles with a 29-13 victory at Doak Campbell Stadium to improve to 4-1.

What does it all mean to college football analyst Joel Klatt? The Fox Sports analyst/broadcaster re-ranked his Top 10 teams after Week 6 and moved Clemson up three spots to No. 7. The Tigers now rank ahead of Miami in Klatt’s new re-rank.

With the Tide losing in Nashville, the Texas Longhorns are Klatt’s new No. 1 team with the Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 2. Georgia rose to No. 3, just a week after Klatt dropped them to No. 5. The Oregon Ducks and Penn State Nittany Lions round out Klatt’s top five teams.

Tennessee dropped to No. 9 in Klatt’s re-ranking with the 5-0 Iowa State Cyclones rounding out the top 10.

Clemson is ranked No. 10 in this week’s AP Top 25 and No. 11 in the Coaches Poll. The Tigers will face Wake Forest (2-3) Saturday at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium in Winston-Salem. Kickoff is set for noon ET. The game can be seen on ESPN.
