Halftime report: Seahawks and Giants gridlocked at 10-10

The Seattle Seahawks have completed two quarters of play against the New York Giants, and in a way, the script has been completely flipped. While the game may be tied, it is the Giants who are facing little resistance offensively.

Yes, on their opening drive their first attempt at punching it in was literally fumbled away, as Seahawks safety Rayshawn Jenkins recovered the football and returned it 102 yards for an opening score. It became the longest fumble recovery in Seattle history.

However, it was at the end of a 16-play 79 yard drive. Two possessions later, New York had another long drive, marching 81 yards in eight plays to tie the game at 7-7 a piece with this touchdown to Wan’Dale Robinson.

Normally this is where I would put another Seahawks highlight, if I had one! Aside from the fumble recovery, Seattle practically did absolutely nothing. Their first three possessions ended in punts, but their fourth was with only 22 seconds left in the half, did manage to find a way to get on the board.

It has been brutal on the stat sheet as well. By the numbers…

  • Total yards: Giants225, Seahawks 90
  • Rushing: Giants 90, Seahawks 2
  • Passing: Giants 135, Seahawks 88
  • First downs: Giants 15, Seahawks 5
  • Offensive plays: Giants 39, Seahawks 17
  • Time of possession: Giants 21:55, Seahawks 8:05

New York will get the ball to start the third quarter.
