NFL executives and scouts like what they’ve seen from quarterback Shedeur Sanders through Colorado football’s first five games.
In a poll organized by ESPN, 20 anonymous NFL executives and scouts were asked to share who they consider to be the top quarterback in the 2025 draft class. Unsurprisingly, Sanders led the way with nine votes.
Colorado’s senior quarterback ranks seventh nationally in passing yards (1,630) to go with 15 total touchdowns and three interceptions. Perhaps equally as important, Sanders’ Buffs are 4-1 coming off last week’s dominant win over UCF.
Close behind Sanders, Georgia’s Carson Beck received five votes in the poll, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe had four votes, and Miami’s Cam Ward and Texas’ Quinn Ewers each earned one nod.
Because no quarterback truly stood out above the rest, ESPN college football writer Pete Thamel urged readers to view the poll as a “bellwether for the uncertainty in the class and potential volatility between now and the draft more than any type of definitive predictor.”
