Following a dominant performance against the UCF Knights on Saturday, the Colorado Buffaloes picked up nine votes in the post-Week 5 US LBM Coaches Poll.
Last week, head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffs received five votes following their home win against Baylor, so Colorado is slowly creeping toward the top 25. Illinois, for reference, was ranked No. 25 in this week’s poll with 122 votes.
Eight Big 12 teams were either ranked or receiving votes in the post-Week 5 poll: No. 16 Iowa State, No. 18 Utah, No. 19 BYU, No. 20 Kansas State, Arizona (44 votes), Oklahoma State (15 votes), Colorado (nine votes) and UCF (two votes).
Colorado will enjoy a bye week before hosting K-State on Oct. 12.
