The Astros (-275) will set you back nearly 3 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward. Even as part of a multi-leg parlay, including Houston sucks all of the value out of your ticket.
Plus, Houston is risky against the southpaw Suarez, as the Astros are just 21-21 against left-handed starting pitchers, while the Angels are 14-18 vs. LHP this season.
PASS.
Run line/Against the spread
The ASTROS -1.5 (-125) are a little more affordable on the run line. These teams just played in Anaheim over the weekend, with Houston not only winning each of the 3 games, but each by exactly 2 runs apiece. That includes a 5-3 win with Kikuchi on the bump Sept. 13.
If you like Houston, you should like it to get the job done by 2 or more runs at home. Just don’t get too carried away.
Over/Under
OVER 8 (-115) is worth a look in this series opener.
