Michigan State football attempting to flip legacy recruit

The Spartans are in pursuit of Elijah Burress, son of MSU legend Plaxico, who is currently committed to Notre Dame

Michigan State football has 16 commits in its 2025 recruiting class, two of which are wide receivers: Braylon Collier and Charles Taplin. Now, the Spartans are looking to flip a key legacy recruit in the class.

Plaxico Burress’ son, Elijah, has been committed to Notre Dame since very early in his process. The Spartans are trying to change that, pursuing a flip of the Fighting Irish’s prospect and looking to get the son of the MSU legend on campus as soon as possible.

247Sports reporter Brian Dohn spoke to Burress about the process and the progress Michigan State is making in his recruitment.

Burress is from Wayne, New Jersey, and attends DePaul Catholic High School. He is a high three-star prospect.
