Bills’ Sean McDermott: Josh Allen injury is good to go, will play vs. Dolphins

The update everyone wanted to hear:

And… exhale.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott gave the news everyone in western New York was hoping to hear on Monday. McDermott updated the hand injury quarterback Josh Allen sustained against the Arizona Cardinals in Buffalo’s 34-28 win in Week 1.

Allen is good to go. The coach said Allen will practice this week and then will play in his team’s next contest in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday:

Allen, 28, sustained the injury amid incredible circumstances. He jumped a Cardinals defender and lunged to the Arizona goal line and scored. As impressive as the play was, Allen landed on his left, non-throwing hand.

Allen was able to tape it up and continue playing the rest of the second half against the Cards. Following the win, Allen said the hand was “fine” but admitted the obvious: He is not a doctor.

Now said doctors have evidently cleared him to play. However, McDermott fell short of indicating if Allen has any sort of break or contusion in/ on his hand.

Bills Wire will provide further updates as information is made available.
