Texas A&M opened the 2024 season as the 20th-ranked team in the US LBM Coaches Poll, but after falling to then No. 7-ranked Notre Dame in Week 1, the Aggies have stumbled out of the Top 25 rankings, which is surprising given the matchup.
In a close defensive contest between two programs looking to make a statement to start the new year, the Aggie offense, led by starting quarterback Conner Weigman, looked as bad as a unit could look. as the redshirt sophomore threw for 100 yards and two interceptions against what will likely be the toughest defense A&M will face all season.
Well, even though this was Weigman’s 10th career start under center, fans were less than pleased with his performance, as the signal caller chose to clear the air and speak to the media on Monday afternoon, vowing to fix the issues that plagued his accuracy issues.
“My footwork. I’ve got to be better. My feet were all over the place after watching the film, and that won’t happen again.”
Going into what can only be coined as a “get right” game vs. visiting McNeese on Saturday, everyone will have their eyes on Weigman, who should bounce back in a big way against a lesser defense to gain much-needed confidence.
