Former Eagles pass rusher Haason Reddick remains a holdout heading into Week 1

Former Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Haason Reddick continues to holdout from the New York Jets heading into Week 1

The Jets are less than a week away from opening up the regular season on the road against the 49ers on a Monday night, and their top pass rusher is still not reporting to the team.

After Trent Williams headed to San Francisco to sign a revised contract, former Eagles pass rusher and Jets holdout Haason Reddick remains away from the team.

Jets GM Joe Douglas didn’t secure a new contract for the pass rusher upon making the trade. Reddick skipped his new team’s voluntary offseason activities, including the mandatory minicamp.

Reddick didn’t attend training camp either and has previously requested a trade.

Last season, Reddick finished 15th in the league with 11 sacks and made his second straight Pro Bowl.

He recorded double-digit sacks for the fourth consecutive season, leading his team in that category and tying for 15th in the NFL. Outside of the sacks, though, Reddick’s numbers were poor by his standards.

His 38 tackles were the second-lowest mark of his career, and he didn’t force or recover a fumble after forcing five and recovering three during the 2022 season.
