Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin has been a model of consistency since arriving at the NFL level, even though he has worked with a cadre of various, mediocre quarterbacks throughout his career.

Now, McLaurin gets an opportunity to work with 2023 Heisman Trophy winner and rookie QB Jayden Daniels, who looked impressive in training camp and preseason.

McLaurin seems like he has been around forever, but he is just 28 years old. He has had 4 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, and he is durable, last missing a game in the 2020 season. He also has at least 4 TD receptions in each of his 5 NFL seasons. Below, we look at Terry McLaurin’s 2024 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

As we head into the 2024 season, McLaurin is considered more of a WR2 in most fantasy formats, but managers are rarely disappointed when drafting him.

Terry McLaurin’s ADP: 65.87

(ADP data courtesy of MyFantasyLeague.com; last updated at time of this publishing – ADPs continually change as more drafts occur)

McLaurin’s 65.87 ADP in redraft formats makes him more of a WR2 or top-end WR3 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams. He can be targeted as early as Round 6, and he likely won’t still be on the board past Round 8, especially in PPR leagues.

McLaurin’s ADP ranks him 29th among wideouts, just behind Tee Higgins (Cincinnati Bengals, 59.65), George Pickens (Pittsburgh Steelers, 59.71) and Rashee Rice (Kansas City Chiefs, 62.30), and he is just ahead of Keenan Allen (Chicago Bears, 66.03), Tank Dell (Houston Texans, 69.47), Chris Godwin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 71.26) and Keon Coleman (Buffalo Bills, 72.40).

Where should you draft McLaurin?

McLaurin has been a consistent and durable receiver in his 5 seasons in the NFL. And, let’s face it, he hasn’t exactly worked with top-notch NFL talent under center. In fact, he has worked with 10 different starting QBs in his career, with 5 of them no longer in the league, and the other 5 now serving as backups with other organizations.

Now, McLaurin gets a chance to work with a legitimate talent in Daniels. Yes, the latter is a rookie, so there are bound to be some growing pains and miscommunication. But, McLaurin is the consummate pro, and he’ll be a great mentor for the young QB so the duo can grow together.

If you were to land McLaurin as a low-end WR2 or top WR3, he is going to give you consistency and durability. Both of those things have been mentioned above. As a flex fantasy option, you can do much, much worse with McLaurin, who is anything but Scary Terry. He just produces.
