Over the past decade, Bruce Feldman’s “Freaks List” at The Athletic has become quite popular in the world of college football and the NFL.
If you’re unaware of what the Freaks List is, it highlights the athletes who aren’t just the best at what they do, but the most uniquely gifted and physically able among everyone in the sport.
It’s a concept that has inspired copies, and recently, 247Sports has started putting out its own Freaks List for incoming high school recruits. On the 2025 version of that list, Oregon Duck fans will rejoice that their 5-star wide receiver commit, Dakorien Moore, is listed at No. 10.
Here’s what 247Sports had to say about Moore, who is the No. 1 rated recruit in Oregon school history.
It’s hard to really put a thumb on what makes Moore a bonafide freak and that might be what truly makes Moore special. Sure, he’s got the track figures (10.4 seconds in the 100-meter dash, more than 23 feet in the long jump) and a 1,500-yard receiving season to his credit while facing some of the best competition in America, but the true X factor for Moore might be how he’s wired.
Moore is one of the few players to ever get snaps on both sides of the ball at the Texas powerhouse that is Duncanville, and he’s been nothing but sticky in coverage when asked to pull double-duty. Evan Stewart (No. 3 on 2022 Freaks List) should provide plenty of fireworks for the Ducks this season and Moore, who ranks No. 5 overall in the Top247, has what it takes to be another game-breaker in Eugene.
While Moore was the only current Oregon commit to make the list, there are a number of players who are either uncommitted or prime flip targets for the Ducks who did make the cut.
Among them are No. 1 S Jonah Williams, committed to Texas, No. 14 ATH Michael Terry III, uncommitted, and No. 16 TE Linkon Cure, committed to Kansas.
