The Pittsburgh Steelers released former Wisconsin Badgers offensive lineman Tyler Beach on Monday.
Beach, who represented UW from 2017-22, was among eight Steelers released to begin the week. Defensive back Kiondre Thomas, defensive lineman Marquiss Spencer, linebacker Kyahva Tezino, offensive lineman Devery Hamilton, running back Daijun Edwards and wide receivers Jacob Copeland and T.J. Luther rounded out the list.
All 32 NFL teams are required to trim their rosters to 53 by 4:00 p.m. ET on Aug. 27. On a platoon loaded with both veterans and depth up front, Beach just wasn’t quite ready to become part of the rotation.
The 6’6” lineman was a staple in the Badgers’ offensive line from 2021-22, his final seasons on campus. During those campaigns, Beach started 21 contests and secured an All-Big Ten third team selection during his final year of eligibility.

Following a strong showing at Wisconsin’s pro day, the Grafton, Wisconsin native signed with the Houston Texas as an undrafted free agent for the 2023 season. He did not see the turf, however.
Beach will be a candidate for the practice squad once roster cuts are finalized.
